CAS at the Eleventh Hour

I got my first order ever from Clearly Besotted Stamps this week and stamped the stamps and 'died' the dies and left it until 11pm to enter Stephanie's colour challenge with this card:

I used the grey as background and cut the balloons in mirri-card and chose to add the other colours in the challenge as little ribbon dicky-bows for the die-cut balloons.

Card Recipe:
  • Card stock from stash
  • Grey polka-dot paper from the 'Silent Night' paper pad by First Edition papers, purchased only this week from my local craft shop: Cottage Crafts
  • Balloons cut using the Balloons in a set of dies by Clearly Besotted Stamps and the sentiments are also by Clearly Besotted Stamps
  • Clear gems from stash
  • Ribbons from a selection by Meiflower

A Sassy Special

I made this card to have in my stash - just in case!  Hopefully I won't have to use it for a good while.

I have nearly come to the end of a 3-day tidy-up of my card room.  To the uncrafty eye it's still a bombsite, to me it's 90% organised (once the cupboard doors stay closed!!) - no photos of the still completely covered workdesk!

There are enough Designer Paper pads in my stash to open a craft fair - but a girl just has to have the latest in Designer papers....  My next task is to get all my dies in the same place, then organise my stamps by category,  recycle my scraps, mess the desk all over again as soon as it has been cleared....

To keep me motivated I printed off a Sassy Cheryl image while I looked for suitable papers to take part in this week's challenge - Remembering Black & White Photos.

So sorry about the poor quality,  there is a new camera arriving for my husband this week, I may persuade him to show me how to take good pics of my cards to upload to my blog.

An Early Christmas Card

I am hoping to make all my own Christmas cards for this Christmas - I need 50 cards or thereabouts plus the odd one or two special order for the girls in work.  Wishful thinking?  Maybe not, thanks to Pinterest and challenge blogs!

So sorry about the quality of the photo, I uploaded it from my iPhone.  It's an entry for the current 52 (Christmas) Card Throwdown challenge - use Red & Metallic Gold.  The base is red cardstock, a mat of gold card, a layer of red and white 'candycane effect' designer paper all tied up with red chiffon ribbon.  Papertrey Ink dies & stamps complete the card.

Card Recipe:
  • Red & gold cardstock from stash
  • Red chiffon ribbon purchased from Meiflower
  • Angel die and sentiment stamp purchased from Papertrey Ink

A Little Creativity Today

I am just back from a week's holidays with my husband.  We chose to do a driving holiday through Wales (briefly) and Cornwall.  I had a little list of craft shops I wanted to visit to pick up some much-needed (hah) supplies!

I bought SIX new paper pads, nearly the full collection of Spectrum Noir markers, some gorgeous colours in felt for die-cutting flowers with, some card magazines, and some stamps.  I had a little drool over the new papers before I unpacked the boring suitcases and then had to make an album for a special order I received before my hols.

I am entering my mini notebook that I make using my Bind-it-All machine into this week's Sassy Cheryl's - Anything but a Card challenge and the current Make-it-Monday challenge.

Card Recipe:
  • Notebook pages, front and back covers assembled using my Bind-it-All machine
  • Paper from the First Edition paper pad called 'New Bloom' purchased at the Hobbycraft store in Truro last week (I was in their shop three times)
  • Pre-coloured image purchased years ago from Sassy Cheryl website
  • Lime green ribbon to tie bows is from Meiflower
