First Christmas Card for 2016

I wiped my iPad of all my favourite challenge blogs by mistake and have had a lovely week reconstructing them thanks to the gals at Paper Playful listing challenge blogs on a daily basis.  So I have discovered new ones to 'case'.  Got my Promarkers out to colour up this really cute image only 3 shades used: Berry Red, Pear Green and Shale.

It's a nearly 6x6 inch card base, covered with two sheets of DP (designer papers) and embellished with die cuts by Joanna Sheen and Spellbinders Labels 31.  I took my time colouring in those cute woolly-hatted owls and look what I did....covered two of them up with the tag! I normally stamp on smooth 160g paper for my laser printer but this time I had scraps of cream 'hammered' card that I used instead - you can barely see the hammered effect to the bottom right of the stamped image.

I am entering the following challenges:

Card Recipe

  • Base card from the Factory Craft Shop in Ballymena, Northern Ireland
  • Ancient Designer Papers from my stash - I think one is from DCWV
  • Bow/ribbon die by Joanna Sheen
  • Dec 25th die also by Joanna Sheen
  • Spellbinders Labels 31
  • Stamp is by Art Impressions Stamps

Maureen loves Elephants

A lovely colleague in work loves Elephants and I have only ever thought of using this Lili of the Valley rubber stamp for babies' cards!  One of the challenge blogs I visit on a weekly basis is a colour challenge and I'm always impressed by the participants and their use of colour, never dreaming of participating myself until this week......

Card Recipe:
  • Base card is from The Factory Craft Shop, Ballymena
  • Designer Paper is by Prima from a 6x6 pad called 'Rondelle' (I think)
  • Stamp is by Lili of the Valley, coloured with Promarkers and Spectrum Noir pens
  • The button is cut from silver card using a First Edition button die
  • Silver/Grey ribbon is from Meiflower

Sweet Birthday

Sweet little birthday card for my stash inspired by a couple of challenges over the past week. It's been a week away from my card room [because it needs to be tidied up!] .... and the real reason is.....I simply wasn't in the mood for making cards!

Card Recipe:
  • The base card is a 14.5 x 14.5cm square card from the Factory Craft Shop, Ballymena.
  • The Designer Paper is a digi-download from Pink Petticoat (now closed!)
  • The digi-stamp is from Eureka stamps - I just bought it a week ago and should have plenty of uses for it.
  • The image is coloured using 2 Promarkers (Buttercup & Pear Green) and 1 other colour from a different company.
  • The Butterfly is an X-cut die being used for the first time - still in Art n Hobby shops.
  • The Fairies are a mini die set by Joanna Sheen
  • The BRAD I used was from a tub by Stampin' Up!

First Birthday Card of the Year

I have two baby boy cards ready already for 2016.....now to start on creating Birthday cards.  This first one is for one of the girls in work using a digi-stamp I bought yesterday from Eureka stamps and really they should be CHOCOLATE cupcakes not LEMON because she is a CHOCOHOLIC but the calories take no effect on her waistline - lucky girl!

Card Recipe:
  • Base card is from The Factory Craft Shop, Ballymena, Northern Ireland
  • Black and Lemon card is from a box of pick n mix by Payperbox
  • DP is by First Edition Paper 6x6 paperpad called Noir et Chic
  • Cupcake Wreath (new digi-stamp for me) is by Eureka Stamps
  • Butterfly dies are by Robert Addams
  • Image was coloured using two Promakers: Buttercup & Mustard

  • DP is from First Edition 6x6 paperpad called 'Silent Night'
